One evening, as he was finally celebrating his discovery, Oscar was struck by lightning on his way back, in the heart of Purnode. Mysteriously, his body was never found. It wasn’t until 25 years later that an old chest, discovered in Brasserie du Bocq, revealed the precious recipe for his beer.

TÊTE DE MORT: A TRIBUTE TO A LEGEND

It is in tribute to this enigmatic brewer that the famous triple beer was named “Tête de Mort.” Even today, the legend says that Oscar roams the streets of the village. Some claim to see strange lights at the brewery on certain nights, while the air fills with the aromas of Tête de Mort brews.
